Oh how I've missed reading your writing. This is such a wonderfully-written piece. I love the bicycle metaphor and how you stuck with it throughout the article. Thank god we don't live in a Disney movie because their notion of love is so completely romanticized.

Also I'm sorry to hear about your sister but how beautiful it is to hear your parents coming together to nurture and care for her. You're right - that is love. Being there for each other and going through the ups and downs.
